Introduction:

KIN Pilates entered a rapidly growing wellness category caught between two extremes. On one side, performance-driven fitness culture built around intensity, aesthetics and gym mentality. On the other, overly soft and highly feminine pilates brands focused more on trends and visual perfection than genuine strength or long-term wellbeing.

KIN was designed to sit somewhere entirely different.

A movement and wellness practice that embraced sweat, discipline and physical challenge, while still grounding the experience in connection, recovery, ritual and emotional wellbeing. Less performative fitness culture, more a modern third space people genuinely wanted to return to.

BOAST partnered with KIN to shape a future-facing wellness brand built around presence, belonging and the idea that strength should extend far beyond the mat itself.

Strategy & Execution:

At a strategic level, the brand positioning centred around redefining what strength looks and feels like for a new generation of wellness consumers.

Rather than chasing exclusivity, perfection or high-performance fitness tropes, BOAST developed a more emotionally intelligent and culturally aware brand ecosystem designed around repetition, routine, community and long-term practice. A wellness experience that felt aspirational without becoming intimidating.

The visual direction intentionally balanced intensity with softness. Sweat, heat, movement and physical exertion were treated as essential parts of the experience, while the broader world around the brand introduced warmth, ritual and connection through recovery spaces, matcha culture, sensory design and lifestyle-led storytelling.

Across strategy, identity design, website design, campaign direction and art direction, every touchpoint was created to feel lived-in, emotionally resonant and deeply human. Less like a traditional fitness studio and more like a wellness club people built into their identity and everyday life.

The final rollout extended across the full brand ecosystem including digital, social, campaign photography, merchandise, website design and launch communications, creating a scalable foundation designed for future expansion and long-term cultural relevance.

Commercial Outcome:

KIN Pilates launched with a confident and highly differentiated position within the wellness market, helping separate the brand from both performance-driven fitness culture and the increasingly saturated aesthetic pilates space. Launch event, followed by KIN Friday’s all summer long became sold out immediately with a growing waitlist. By combining emotional connection, strong strategic positioning and a more culturally relevant approach to modern wellness, the brand established a deeper sense of belonging and long-term resonance from launch. The final result was a future-facing movement brand designed not only to attract attention, but to build loyalty, ritual and community over time.
